Hand-set / In-situ Stonework
DescriptionTrent Concrete undertakes hand-set/in-situ stonework in conjunction with precast concrete cladding packages. This is particularly appropriate for ground to first floor levels where there is a significant amount of non-standard work, and which is typically fixed late in the programme thereby alleviating susceptibility to damage.
In addition, Trent can supply grey precast backing panels to which natural stone is hand-set on site.
Benefits
Hand-set/in-situ stonework:
- Is suitable for non-standard, easily damaged elements on a building
- Combines a traditional natural stone appearance with the durability and other benefits of precast concrete panels
Process
From the architectural information, Trent designs and details each individual piece of stone, which is then cut to size by the stone supplier and delivered to site. The stone is then hand-set by Trent onto an in-situ structure or grey backing units.
