Trent Concrete to clad new HQ of marine insurance company
Trent Concrete has recently won the cladding contract for the new headquarters of Sunderland Marine, worldwide provider of marine and aquaculture insurance, at Aykley Heads just North of Durham.
Trent's £255k contract covers a combined reconstructed stone and natural brick faced solution. 309 square metres of shallow etched reconstructed Bath stone will be used on the North and West elevations. A combination of units - piers, mullions and wall panels - will be used to form an arch effect. 525 square metres of brick-faced wall panels, with Baggeridge Corium buff-coloured bricks, will be used on the South and East elevations.
Architects Nicholson Nairn specified precast for its aesthetic qualities and guaranteed replica stone finish, to reflect the architectural quality of a prestigious building located in a sensitive conservation area. Trent starts on site in November.
