Trent Concrete provides GRC for Surrey Institute of Art & Design

Trent Concrete will start delivering a series of GRC (glass reinforced concrete) panels for the new library and resource centre at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design's Epsom campus on 12th February.

The 112 units will comprise a GRC feature band recessed into a traditionally constructed block and brickwork cavity wall. GRC was specified as a lightweight material that would easily be supported by the block and brickwork. The units are in a buff reconstructed stone mix featuring a bespoke black fleck, and measure 440mm wide by 1500mm long by just 18mm thick.

This project is the first undertaken by Trent since its acquisition of Mouldform GRC. Architectural GRC forms a new product line for Trent and is highly complementary to reconstructed stone cladding, ideal when a lighter weight and more manoeuvrable material is required.
