Trent Concrete acquires Mouldform GRC and Empire Mould Solutions

Trent Concrete has recently completed its acquisition of two companies, Mouldform GRC and Empire Mould Solutions.

The strategy underpinning these acquisitions is fourfold:

1. Trent Concrete is the largest customer of both companies and the vertical integration created by the acquisition secures forward mould building capacity.

2. Trent Concrete brings greater strength to the combined businesses to enable growth to be planned and managed, and provide improved job security for the companies' 40 employees. Trent is keen to ensure that customer confidence in the mould business is not diminished - current high standards will be maintained whilst certainty of availability and delivery schedules will be improved.

3. Mouldform GRC's civil engineering products, particularly sewer linings used in Victorian sewer renovation schemes and permanent form-work, will be developed and expanded by Trent Concrete.

4. Architectural GRC will form a new product line in Trent Concrete's range of cladding products. Architectural GRC is highly complementary to reconstructed stone cladding, being ideal where limited access means small, lightweight panels are required. A new production unit is being established at Trent's Nottingham factory, which will add significantly to the architectural GRC capacity in the U.K. Trent Concrete has already completed architectural GRC contracts at The Mailbox in Birmingham and the Welcoming Pavilions at the Government buildings in Dublin, and starts work next year on the Seamore Project in Mayfair, London.
