GRC cladding specified for high-quality office development in prestigious west end location

Building on its firm belief that GRC will be a major cladding material of the future, Trent Concrete has recently secured the £½m contract for a GRC cladding system on a high-quality office development in a prestigious West End location.

The seven storey office building, to be known as 25-35 Park Lane, is located on a site bounded by Park Lane, Curzon Street and Pitts Head Mews, and is formed as two wings on either side of a listed building.

GRC was specified because of the weight benefits offered against more traditional materials, whilst maintaining the overall aesthetics of stone.

The 613 column casing, soffit and feature band GRC units are all cast in a white acid-etched reconstructed Portland Stone mix. These will be incorporated with an aluminium curtain walling system, manufactured by Plus Wall, and delivered to site as composite units.

Trent's package also includes reconstructed encased structural columns to match the GRC, which Trent will supply to site in early September.
