Combined terracotta-faced and reconstructed stone cladding for luxury residential development

Trent Concrete has won the £1.43m cladding contract for three luxury apartment buildings at the high-profile, mixed-use Imperial Wharf development adjacent to Chelsea Harbour.

Trent's works include 3600 square metres of acid-etched reconstructed Bath and Portland Stone combined with 760 square metres of natural terracotta-faced wall panels.

The GIMA terracotta tiles are cast onto a concrete panel with deep shadow joints to replicate the appearance of a rainscreen tile system.

The developer and architects selected prefabrication due to the requirement for the fastest possible programme time without compromising on a high quality finish, as many of the apartments have already been sold.

Trent Concrete negotiated the contract with St. George Central London Ltd. based on a budget programme and price, and starts installation on site in September for a phased completion period ending in April 2002.
