Combined hand-set and stone-faced cladding solution at Arthur Street
Trent Concrete produced a combined hand-set and natural stone-faced cladding solution for an office development on Arthur Street in London.
This approach delivers a greater speed of construction, overcomes site skills shortages and enables improved on-site safety, whilst retaining the traditional masonry appearance required.
Trent's £1.8m contract covered 1150 square metres of precast concrete backing panels to receive hand-set in-situ Portland Stone and Granite on the ground to fourth floors, and 1120 square metres of Portland Stone faced units for the fourth to ninth floors.
The units are predominantly storey-high mullion panels, with associated spandrels. In addition, Trent provided reconstructed Portland stone features to the shear wall areas, and fixed the in-situ stonework to the lower storeys as part of its package.
