Trent supplies precast cladding to Gibraltar

In its first export contract to mainland Europe, Trent Concrete is supplying reconstructed stone cladding for Tradewinds, a luxury apartment complex in Gibraltar.

Trent's £864k contract covers 2861 square metres of white reconstructed stone cladding in 520 units. The storey-high panels are typically 2.995m in height, with varying lengths most commonly 2.47 and 2.13m long.

The precast concrete cladding features extensively across all elevations, and was specified for its ability to provide visual 'weight' and quality to the building, and to enable a fast construction period on a tight site at the marina in Gibraltar. This is the latest in a series of contracts Trent has secured in the up-market residential sector, where precast is being recognised for its ability to guarantee a high quality finish, ensure programme certainty and minimise on site disruption.

Tradewinds is a three-tower, 81 apartment development located at Marina Bay in Gibraltar. Trent has undertaken several previous export projects in the Republic of Ireland, but this will be the furthest point overseas to which Trent has ever supplied cladding. Trent starts supplying units from the end of July.
