Washers
Stainless steel and isolating washers are used as part of the mechanical restraint assembly for cladding fixing.
Water/Cement Ratio
The ratio of water to cement measured by weight in the concrete mix. Lower water/cement ratios produce high strength and greater durability.
Waterproof
Trent cladding panels are manufactured with high strength concrete and are waterproof.
Weathering
The process of a building's façade reacting to weather over time. Trent's cladding performs well in responding to the effects of weather but it is ultimately influenced by the aspect of the façade and the architectural detailing of its features.
Weigh Batcher
A cement mixer equipped to measure the mix content by weighing the aggregates cement and water. Trent's batching plants are computer managed.
Weight
If conventional precast claddings are too heavy for an application GRC can be considered as an alternative.
Welfare Facilities
Trent requires main contractors to provide appropriate facilities on site to enable our erectors to work efficiently. These include sanitation, messing and drying facilities.
Wet Cast
All Trent's products are wet cast using designed concrete mixes. The wet cast concrete can be conventionally reinforced and formed into large structural and non structural components. The wet cast process provides for compaction by external vibration.
White Cement
Forms the basis of many architectural mix designs. Used in conjunction with proprietary pigments, a wide range of coloured concretes can be achieved.
Width (maximum)
The maximum width without restriction is 2.89m. For units between 2.89m and 4.1m, police permission is required. For units above 4.1m, a police escort is mandatory. This can result in uncertainty of site delivery timing, depending on instructions of police forces en route.
Workload
The workload of the company is regulated by a master workload planning chart, using allowed casting hours as the currency for planning. The accuracy of this planning method means we can offer absolute certainty of meeting any construction programme we enter into.
